PHILIPPE
(forme courte)
How can the troubling doubt of misunderstanding be turned into spectacle?
Despite his awkwardness, Philippe is not afraid to say what he thinks. The problem is that he is not entirely sure he understands what he is saying, as he is far from convinced that his thoughts originate from himself.
Having reached this conclusion, and even though he is not convinced that it is truly he who is speaking, Philippe has no intention of stopping.
Through a language that seems devoid of logic, within an intangible reality where his perceptions lead him to doubt the very truth of the real, he attempts to answer the following question:
What are the mechanisms that destabilise understanding? Or, more precisely, how does one learn not to understand?
With this new project, Le Comité des fêtes suspends our familiar relationship to the world in order to reveal it more clearly. It invites us to observe the everyday, solitude, the smallest gesture, the missteps that cause us to endlessly stumble over the banal, so that, amidst disorder, we may embrace the full ambiguity of existence.
